Players to watch out for

1. Victor Eletu

Victor Ehuwa Eletu of AC Milan

Arguably the most exciting star in the constellation of the Flying Eagles, this AC Milan central midfielder would be looking to continue his outstanding season, while lining up for Nigeria.

Eletu, who signed his first professional contract with the Italian powerhouses in December 2022, has been a dependable member of Milan U-19 team this season, playing 31 league games and six UEFA Youth League matches as Milan advanced to the semifinals.

His keen sense of the game, and the ability to disrupt play, would be a handy tool for Ladan Bosso's side in Argentina.

2. Abel Ogwuche

Trelleborgs FF defender Ogwuche, has, since joining the Swedish side, been a delight to watch in the European nation's second division. Little wonder his immense impact for the Flying Eagles at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

The Trelleborgs man was a light upon a hill into the U-20 AFCON quarter-final against Uganda, as he kept their East Africans' frontline quiet with a player-of-the-match performance as Nigeria ran out 1-0 winners.

Ogwuche also bagged himself two clean sheets from three games including a display against Uganda the Flying Eagles' Group D opponents would hope is not repeated in Argentina.

3. Solomon Agbalaka

Agbalaka will be a familiar name when the Flying Eagles step out onto the pitch in Argentina.

The left back put up impressive displays at the U-20 AFCON that saw him win two man-of-the-match awards, and get named in the team of the tournament.

Beyond defending, the talented full-back who plays for Broad City in Nigeria, could be a treat for in attack for the Flying Eagles considering his towering header of a goal that gave Nigeria a 1-0 win over Egypt in the group stages.
