Lionel Messi dropped the bombshell on Wednesday night of his decision to turn down Barcelona for MLS side Inter Miami and there are other players who could follow his lead.
1. Luis Suarez
The former Barcelona striker and goal machine is 36 now but still has a few good goals left in him. He is probably Messi’s best friend and the two spent time together on and off the pitch.
According to 90 min, it is a deal that is already being explored by Inter Miami as they look to reunite the two Barca legends.
Suarez has been with Brazilian side Gremio since last year following a stint in his homeland with Nacional. The 36-year-old is contracted to Gremio until 2024, but has a release clause.
2. Sergio Busquets

Busquets is another one that could join Messi in the MLS this summer. The Barcelona man announced his decision to leave the club as a free agent this summer, turning down the offer of a new deal offered by the club in March.
He has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema but recent reports suggest he could now team up with Messi in Miami.
3. Angel Di Maria
Make no mistake, Di Maria still has a lot to offer at the highest level. However, a move to the MLS could be the perfect way to wind down on an illustrious career.
The former PSG man could yet play a vital role for Argentina in next year’s Copa America and a season playing with Messi could end up being a master stroke.
He is currently a free agent after leaving Juventus and has also been linked with the Inter Miami revolution.
