Manchester United's season hit a new low as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford and manager Erik ten Hag is now under pressure.

Here are 3 mistakes Erik ten Hag made in Manchester United's disappointing loss to Tottenham.

Poor pressing set-up

At this level of football, high pressing is employed by the best teams and United's pressing against Spurs left plenty to be desired.

There were spaces all over the pitch with the Red Devils' forwards struggling to stop the Spurs defenders from playing out of the back with ease.

The midfielders were no better, with Kobbi Mainoo in particular, struggling to keep up with James Maddison and the movement around him.

Hojlund should have started

The summer signing continues to prove that he is not the answer to United's goalscoring problems.

He Spurned a glorious chance to equalise and was taken off at half-time to ensure his miserable run of form continued, still without a goal since the first day of the season.

Tactical ineptitude

There's no point sugarcoating it any longer, Erik ten Hag isn't good enough to take Manchester United back to the glory days.

He has shown time and time again that he lacks the tactical know-how to hang with the big boys and watching his side carved apart time and time again by a rampant Spurs team should be the final nail in his coffin.

INEOS must act fast to avoid another mediocre season as the club approaches 11 years since their last league title.
