Could the arrival of Sergio Ramos be the ideal solution for injury-hit Real Madrid?

Sergio Ramos is reportedly harbouring hopes of a return to Real Madrid, with long-term injuries sidelining key defenders David Alaba, Eder Militao, and Dani Carvajal.

According to AS, the veteran centre-back is said to be keen on rejoining his former club.

Ramos has been a free agent since departing Sevilla at the end of last season. Despite receiving offers from clubs in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer (San Diego), and Boca Juniors, the 38-year-old has remained without a club.

AS reports a "lack of conviction" in the offers received thus far, but notes that Ramos' demands will likely be lower in January as he is eager to return to playing.

During his illustrious 16-year tenure at Real Madrid, Ramos made 671 appearances, scoring an impressive 101 goals. He also earned 180 caps for Spain and won an astounding 22 trophies with Los Blancos.

Reports have it that Ramos, who will turn 39 next year, has continued to train rigorously with the hope that he will get a suitable offer.

However, the former Paris Saint-Germain player is likely prioritizing finding a team for the second half of the season to avoid a prolonged absence from competitive football. While a return to the Santiago Bernabeu remains a dream for the veteran defender, it appears increasingly unlikely given the current circumstances.
