Lwanga, through his Twitter handle, shared a cryptic message in which he alluded to appreciating the side he featured for during a two-season spell.

Taddeo Lwanga rejoining Vipers SC is precisely what the fans would want to see happening, but is it happening? The latest development might suggest so.

Lwanga, through his Twitter handle, shared a cryptic message in which he alluded to appreciating the side he featured for during a two-season spell.

"This is what makes us who we are today!" Lwanga tweeted, captioning a picture with his former teammates, who include Steven Mukwala, Rahmat Ssenfuka and current captain Milton Kariisa.

The picture was taken during the 2017 CECAFA Kagame Cup after Lwanga had scored a screamer against Gor Mahia.

The Engineer, who is currently a free agent, having run down his one-year contract with Arta Solar in Djibouti, which he opted not to renew, is weighing his options both here and elsewhere, as reported by Pulse Sports earlier in the week.

"I am weighing my options, here and elsewhere, but the target is to be in a more competitive environment," Lwanga told Pulse Sports.

Taddeo Lwanga joined the Venoms at the start of the 2017/18 season on a two-year deal from S.C Villa, captaining them to their third league title.

He then joined Egyptian side Tanta FC before joining Simba SC, where he enjoyed a successful two-year spell.

The six-time league champions, who have already started restructuring their squad ahead of the new season, announced the departure of seven players, including three Congolese players.

Left-back Disan Galiwango, midfielders Frank Tumwesigye, Ibrahim Orit, Musa Ssali, Olivier Osomba, Garcia Mpongo and Serge Robert Mwenge, alongside centre-back Bashir Asiku, were the players released through a press statement on Wednesday.

Vipers are bidding to make a second straight appearance in the CAF Champions League group stages after last season's feat.
