Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze could be removed as a target for Serie A side AC Milan as the Italian side reportedly consider other targets
Italian side AC Milan are reportedly set to drop their interest in Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze after being put off by Villarreal’s asking price for the winger.
AC Milan set to give up on Chukwueze pursuit
Chukwueze has been linked with a move away from Villarreal after a superb 2022/23 season which saw him finish with 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances for the Yellow Submarine in all competitions.
The Nigerian forward was the club’s second-highest goalscorer behind Jose Luis Morales (15) and had more assists than any other Villarreal player, with Yeremy Pino behind him with seven assists.
His form has earned him a number of high-profile suitors, including Real Madrid, Arsenal, and AC Milan, but the Italian side are reportedly losing interest
Villarreal hoping for big Chukwueze payday
The Super Eagles forward has reportedly lost one of those suitors after Sky Sports Italia reported that Milan will turn their attention to other forward targets since they now consider Chukwueze too expensive.
Chukwueze’s current contract with Villarreal expires in 2024, and this summer represents one of the last chances for the Yellow Submarine to sell him for a sizeable fee, but interest in the 24-year-old forward means the LaLiga side is willing to hold out for a bidding war.

Villarreal are reportedly hoping for a fee of up to €40 million for their star winger given his impressive 2022/23 campaign and interest from top sides.
Milan could be pushed to go for other targets in the transfer market including Watford’s Ismaila Sarr and Rennes’ Jeremy Doku.
