The match wasn't just a win; it was a statement of intent, powered by the club's own academy graduates led by their coach, Shola Adegun, the retired aspiring chess grandmaster.

Just three minutes into the game, Kingsley Godday unleashed a strike so spectacular it could only be described as world-class.

The goal can only be described as magical! It was a moment of pure, unadulterated joy for the youngster and the club.

"The result is decent and we're happy with it," he told the club website. "We had good moments in the game. Obviously, we want to be better and we want to keep growing as a team."

Sporting Lagos will take their newfound momentum to an away match against First Bank, before returning home on January 5th 2025 to face Gateway United.
