With just six fixtures pending until the season closes, the contest will go down to the wire.
The Football Kenya Federation Women's Premier League Golden Boot race for the 2022/23 campaign is proving to be well-contested, and it won't be a surprise if it goes down to the wire.
Monica Etot of Kisumu All-Starlets and Wendy Achieng of Thika Queens are current levels on goal count with 13 strikes each.

FOOTBALL Gaspo, Vihiga Queens and Ulinzi Starlets in cutthroat fight for Women Premier League honors
Such is the intensity of the FKFPL title race among log leaders Gaspo Women FC, Vihiga Queens and Ulinzi Starlets that no stone is being left unturned by the three delicately balanced contenders to maximise their challenge.
And with six matches to go before the curtain comes down on the current campaign, Pulse Sports looks at the list of players who could clinch the Golden Boot.
Monica Etot (Kisumu All Starlets)
Kisumu All-Starlets forward Monica Etot climbed the golden boot charts after hitting a brace a fortnight ago in a match against Ulinzi Starlets.
The cunning striker has found the back of the net on 13 occasions in 14 league appearances this campaign.
Recently, Etot earned rare praise from Ulinzi Starlets coach Joseph Mwanza who tipped her to become a great player in the country.
"She has what it takes to become the best player in the specialty. Her link-up play with the rest of the team was even better. She has the pace and power required to bully defenses. Her movement and trickery within the box are some of her strengths," said Mwanza.
Etot hopes to continue his chase for the top goalscorer as the season slowly climaxes.
Wendy Achieng ( Thika Queens)
With 13 goals this season, Wendy Achieng is in pole position to win the award.

FOOTBALL Concussed Wendy Atieno out of Thika Queens' crucial fixture
She suffered a concussion in their 1-0 loss to Zetech Sparks in early March.
Achieng is still out injured after suffering a head concussion in their encounter with Trans Nzoia Falcons two weeks ago.
The 27-year-old striker is expected to return early next month and pick up the momentum, as she had five more goals before her injury than Etot.
Puren Alukwe (Zetech Sparks)
The Zetech Sparks captain has netted ten times this campaign, with her latest goal coming last weekend when her team hammered Kayole Starlet 10-0.
Her prolific in-form has massively helped Sparks in their fight to retain league status after a disastrous first leg where they were deep in the relegation zone.
Despite her ability to score goals, the youngster also can play wide on the right and upfront.
Chris Kach ( Thika Queens)
Chris Katch is one player who needs no introduction due to stellar displays this season, having been the talk of the town.

FOOTBALL Sunday' FKFWPL Review: Vihiga Queens keep pace with Gaspo Women at the top
The four-time champions kept their title hopes alive with a narrow win over Bunyore Starelts.
The former Kayole Starlets striker has banged nine goals, and more are expected to come as she has become a nightmare to defenders in the second leg of the season.
Her showreel of tricks and flicks makes him stand out, let alone her selfless space creation to punish their opponents.
Now, Kach will focus on climbing up the charts and staying injury free to become the Golden Boot winner.
Jackline Chesang ( Wadadia)
The former Wiyeta High School striker has given good accounts of herself so far, with nine goals, despite contrasting fortunes at her club.
She will be hoping to continue with blistering for the remaining six matches, but it's evident that she has a lot of work to do to catch up with Etot and Achieng.
