A furious Jacob Vandi made his feelings known to Pulse Sports Nigeria after his Queens were humbled in Lagos.
Adamawa Queens coach Jacob Vandi is not a happy man after his Queens were thrashed in Lagos on Wednesday.
Adamawa were thrashed 3-0 by Lagos-based Robo Queens in an NWFL week seven encounter played at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Lagos.
The trio of Misurat, who scored the goal of the day, Onyenezide Esther and Shobowale Rukayat Olushola were the difference makers for Robo, who registered their first win at home and the biggest of the season so far.
Adamawa Queens were denied a goal and also missed a penalty in the first half which didn't go down well with their manager, Vandi.
The referee shouldn't have cancelled the goal
With the visitors behind after Misurat's stunning 17th minute strike for Robo, the Adamawa Queens fought back and had the ball in the back of the net.
However, the referee, in a controversial circumstance, called for a foul instead in the build-up to that goal before she pointed to the spot for a penalty.
The girls from Adamawa went on to miss the resultant kick before the home side extended their lead just before the break.
After the game, a furious Vandi spoke to journalists present at the Legacy Pitch, including Pulse Sports Nigeria.
Responding to a question from Pulse Sports' reporter, the visibly angry Adamawa coach went in hard on the centre referee, who he blamed for his side's terrible defeat in Lagos.
"This is the Nigerian league, the referees," Vandi began. "I am not against referees, but sometimes what referees are doing. Look at that goal, she's not supposed to cancel that goal. She's supposed to leave that goal," vandi lamented further.
"Robo (Queens) are stronger, but she (should) have left that goal so that the game would have been balanced. But we will keep moving."
