The Atalanta star, already a leading contender for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award, is poised to add another accolade to his growing list of achievements.
Lookman earns Serie A POTM nomination
Lega Serie A has shortlisted Lookman for the November Player of the Month award after the Nigerian forward scored three goals in three games during the month under review.
The Super Eagles star was nominated alongside Alessandro Buongiorno (Napoli), Federico Dimarco (Inter), Moise Kean (Fiorentina), Marcus Thuram (Juventus), and Mattia Zaccagni (Lazio), whose performances during matchdays 11 to 13 of the 2024/2025 Serie A season were exemplary.
According to Lega Serie A, “The league's innovative rating system, backed by advanced Stats Perform data, evaluates players' technical contributions, off-the-ball movements, and overall efficiency for their teams.”
Beyond the monthly accolade, Lookman has also been nominated for the Forward of the Year award at the prestigious Gran Gala del Calcio in recognition of his incredible 2024.
CAF POTY favourite eyes glory in Marrakech
On the continental stage, Lookman headlines the final five-man shortlist for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.
His standout performances for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Atalanta during the evaluation period, January to October 2024, have set him apart.
Key highlights of Lookman’s year include leading Nigeria to the AFCON final with three goals and an assist and scoring a hat-trick to secure Atalanta’s Europa League title.
Set to compete against stars like Achraf Hakimi, Serhou Guirassy, Simon Adingra, and Ronwen Williams, Lookman could become the latest Nigerian to win the coveted award when the CAF ceremony takes place on December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco.
