How it happened
With Atalanta trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Teun Koopmeiners wasted no time in drawing his side level on aggregate, slotting home after just eight minutes. Atalanta continued to create chances, with Gianluca Scamacca coming close to doubling their lead with a powerful strike that was brilliantly saved by Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano.
Despite Fiorentina enjoying more possession, it was Atalanta who looked more threatening in front of goal. Charles De Ketelaere and Matteo Ruggeri both had opportunities to extend Atalanta's lead before the break, but Fiorentina managed to keep the scoreline at 1-0.
Atalanta took control of the tie in the second half when Nikola Milenković was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity. However, Fiorentina unexpectedly regained the lead on aggregate when Lucas Martínez Quarta scored with a diving header.
