Ademola Lookman: PSG chase for Super Eagles star hit brick wall, after rejected offer by Atalanta

The chase of Ademola Lookman by Paris Saint-Germain has encountered a roadblock as their initial bid for the Atalanta was rejected.

Lookman became a new target for PSG after the recent injury to key player Goncalo Ramos earlier this week.

The Nigerian international's skills are much sought after by PSG, but Atalanta is unwilling to give up its star striker for anything less than what they are demanding.

Due to rumours linking the Nigerian forward to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain, the Super Eagles star was left out of Atalanta's squad for their opening Serie A encounter against Lecce.

The Ligue 1 powerhouses reportedly made a verbal offer of €30 million for the Super Eagles attacker, according to Tutto Atalanta.

However, the French team's offer was promptly turned down by the Serie A team, who saw it as well below their expectations for the attacker.

It is left to PSG to decide whether to bolster their team elsewhere or to accept Atalanta's fee demands.

The Super Eagles star has been in tremendous form since last season, having helped Atalanta win their first European trophy.

The forward made history in the final of the Europa League, scoring a hat trick and becoming the first player in history to score three goals in a European final.

Lookman also had an impressive game in the Super Cup final against Real Madrid despite losing 2-0 to the Spanish giants.

The winger is currently the frontrunner for the 2024 African Player of the Year, with fans tipping him for the award.
