Adjumani joins fellow second-division side Police and Vipers in the semi-final as they await the outcome of the tie between KCCA and Bright Stars on Sunday.

Adjumani Town Council made history on Saturday after eliminating Express from the Stanbic Uganda Cup in Adjumani.

Michael Ajiga gave the FUFA Big League side the lead after five minutes curling in a freekick that beat Denis Otim’s wall.

The Red Eagles pushed for an equaliser but their chances found Anwar Ntege and Boban Zirintusa in their off-peak mode.

Coach James Odoch made tactical changes bringing on Marvin Oshaba for Andrew Kaggwa immediately after the break and then Jamal Alimansi on for Zirintuusa and Joshua Musoke for Faisal Ssekyanzi but it’s the hosts who capitalised on their chance.

Adjumani started a counterattack that Nasur Sadiq Almahad volleyed at the other end to double the lead with 20 minutes to go.
