AFC Leopards coach Tomas Trucha has explained why he was still not satisfied with new signing Arthur Gitego despite the Rwandan striker scoring a hat-trick on Sunday.
AFC Leopards head coach Tomas Trucha is still not impressed by new signing Arthur Gitego’s game despite the striker scoring a hat-trick in the FKF Cup on Sunday.
Gitego was the toast of Leopards as his three goals helped them dispatch lower league side PAC University and seal their place in the Round of 16 of the competition.
The striker showed good centre-forward play as he was a menace in and around the opposition box and capitalised on the errors of PAC University to punish them and hand his side the big win.

FKFPL Arthur Gitego promises more after netting maiden AFC Leopards hat-trick
The Rwandan international has revealed his determination to make a statement for himself at AFC Leopards after scoring a hat-trick against PAC University.
However, his coach feels he is still far from the finished article as he wants his striker to offer more than just goals.
“Still far from my expectations, it is good that he scored three goals, it is what we want from him but he needs to be more involved in our game, to help us more in defence and possession,” Trucha told Box to Box.
“He has some good moments, he scored which is good. We got the striker that we wanted but the connection with other players and the combinations is still far from my expectations.”
Gitego joined Leopards on a two-year contract from Rwandan side Marine FC this month as the club finally found the striker they were looking for.
The match against PAC University was his fourth for the club in all competitions and the early signs look good even if he still needs to work extra hard to convince his coach that he is the real deal.
Gitego made his senior debut for Rwanda in November 2023, and he was in the Amavubi squad that drew goalless with Zimbabwe in Huye in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
