The Sugar Millers are set to lose stars who were intergral for them last season.

AFC Leopards are expected to raid FKF Premier League club Nzoia Sugar for a number of players during the transfer window.

The Sugar Millers are expected to lose almost all of their key players who were phenomenal during the 2022/23 season, in which they ended up finishing fourth. For most of the campaign, the Sudi club was in the Premier League title mix but faded as the season hit the home stretch.

Now, they are expected to remain with only three players from the squad that made them push for the title and even collected three points from a high-profile game against Tusker at Sudi Stadium.

Ingwe have reportedly identified Randy Bakari, a central defender, Humphrey Katasi, the joint Golden Glove winner; Hassan Beja, a winger; and Vincent Mahiga, a left-back from the besieged Sugar Millers. Credible reports indicate that Boniface Munyendo has already signed a two-year deal with the 1998 Premier League winners.

Apart from AFC Leopards, Kariobangi Sharks are interested in resigning Ian Karani, and this will leave the squad far thinner before the next term begins. Joseph Mwangi has been linked with a move to either Tusker or Bandari, while Kevin Juma, considered one of the best deep-lying midfielders, is understood to have agreed in principle to sign for Gor Mahia.

K'Ogalo are yet to make the deal public, but it is understood they have handed the defensive midfielder a four-year contract.

Head coach Salim Babu is also expected not to be part of the club in the 2023/24 season as he is set to join Kenya Police as an assistant to Francis Baraza.
