AFC Leopards piled more misery on Nairobi City Stars when they secured a third win in four games in the FKF Premier League on Sunday.
AFC Leopards made it back-to-back league wins as they claimed a 2-1 victory against Nairobi City Stars at Dandora Stadium on Sunday.
Ingwe went ahead after just 15 minutes when Victor Otieno broke the deadlock following pressure on the City Stars goal but Simba wa Nairobi were level in the 30th minute through Elvin Noor.
The equaliser woke up Leopards who kept the pressure and it yielded dividends four minutes from time.
Hassan Beja forced an own goal from City Stars in the 41st minute of the contest with Ingwe going into the break leading 2-1.
Leopards kept asking the questions in the second half with Beja attacking from the right wing before setting up Samwel Semo whose shot was saved.
Ovella Ochieng and Sydney Lokale then nearly combined for a goal just past the hour mark with the latter seeing his effort also saved by the City Stars goalkeeper.
It was the third win of the season for Leopards from their four games and it will give Tomas Trucha and his side confidence as they bid to stay in touch with the title contenders.
Ingwe have moved to second on the table on nine points, one behind leaders KCB, who have 10 points from a possible 12.
Meanwhile, the defeat extends City Stars’ poor start to the season as they have now lost two and drawn one of their three games to remain second from bottom on the log.
