AFC Leopards Secretary General Gilbert Andugu has hinted that the leadership wrangles within the club are what is holding most decisions, including signing of new players.

FOOTBALL: AFC Leopards move for frustrated Police boss Francis Baraza after Aussems' shock exit
Baraza is not in good term with the Police FC management despite season of laudable progress.
However, it seems those decisions will take time, owing to a rift between club chairman Dan Shikanda and Andugu which came to the fore during the club’s Annual General Meeting on June 25.
The two have not been on the same page on a number of decisions with internal resolution mechanisms reportedly almost exhausted and Andugu admits it will not be easy to settle on a new coach or players if the house is still divided.

FKFPL CONFIRMED: Patrick Aussems leaves AFC Leopards
Aussems joined the club in 2021 and has managed Ingwe for two years.
“We are still consulting with the board and stakeholders on who to replace him,” Andugu told Pulse Sports when asked whether they will be searching locally or out of the country for Aussems’ successor.
“We shall strengthen the squad right from the goalkeeping, right-back, left-back, center-back midfield and striking. We are still sorting out some things. We have so many names we are looking at but we have to sort our house. We have to put our house in order for us to proceed.”

FOOTBALL “I made sure Matano would sack his witchdoctor!” Shimanyula reveals reasons for bullish talk
Shimanyula has revealed the reason behind his intimidating approach against top opponents en route to FKF Cup victory.
The division within the Leopards top brass could be one of the reasons the Belgian tactician opted out of his contract following recent reports that a section of the hierarchy wanted him gone while others were in favour of him staying.
Andugu, however, insists the club were ‘surprised’ by Aussems’ decision to quit after being granted permission to take his annual holiday even before the season ended, to attend to a health issue where he underwent surgery in Belgium.

TRANSFERS AFC Leopards-led raid leaves Nzoia Sugar with only three players
The Sugar Millers are set to lose stars who were intergral for them last season.
“We had already agreed on an extension, a two-year contract, and he made some changes on the contract of which we agreed, then all of sudden we just got a shock yesterday. He has a case at FIFA (about pending payment). It has been there for the last two years, it is something that can be solved,” he added.
Already, Kenya Police FC coach Francis Baraza has been floated around as one of the names likely to replace Aussems at the Den while Nzoia Sugar midfielder Boniface Munyendo is reported to be among players close to joining Ingwe.
