AFC Leopards players have agreed to resume training following partial payment of their delayed allowances that has seen them down tools.
AFC Leopards players have agreed to return to training following a financial dispute that had seen them down their tools.
Leopards players boycotted training this week over delayed payment for their winning bonuses amounting to Ksh20,000 after posting victories in four previous matches before last weekend’s goalless draw with Kakamega Homeboyz.
Tomas Trucha’s men are entitled Ksh5,000 for every win and following the delay, the players sought audience with the club’s management but there were no immediate assurances, leading to the boycott.

FOOTBALL Trouble at the den: AFC Leopards down tools over in monetary dispute
AFC Leopards players strike over unpaid winning allowances despite an unbeaten run, refusing to train until payments are made.
However, with the situation escalating and threatening to disrupt their season after their recent impressive run, the club has moved with spend and settled part of the outstanding bonuses after which the players agreed to resume training.
A source at the club told Pulse Sports the situation was ‘a little tense’ but both parties saw the need to end the standoff for the good of the team following positive talks.
Leopards have been on an upward trajectory this year, when they are yet to lose a match, having won five straight league games before last Sunday’s draw in Kakamega.

FKFPL Salim Babu explains recipe that turned around fortunes at ‘Police-Saint Germain’
Babu took over as Police head coach following a tumultuous first half of the season, but has lost none of the games he has been in charge, who now find themselves in fourth place.
Ingwe are now looking up rather than down as they sit eighth on the table and will be keen to maintain the good run.
However, this appears to be a temporary truce as the situation will likely repeat itself if the balance is not settled on time.
This is not the first time Leopards players have downed tools over a financial dispute as the same was witnessed last season when they also boycotted training over delayed salaries in June.
