The facility in Zanzibar is one of the stadiums tabled by the Tanzanian government for the joint hosting of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, along with Uganda and Kenya.

The renovation works at the Amaan Stadium, Zanzibar have been rounded off with the installation of the floodlights.

In a video posted by Zanzibar’s Chief Government Spokesperson Charles Hillary, he's seen admiring the stadium's magnificence under the floodlights.

“We are here at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar at night; the venue is attractive because of the floodlights that have been installed."

“This is how the stadium will look when face-lifting works are fully completed, games will be played at night, the place is beautiful and grasses on the pitch are in good condition."

“In simple words, the stadium is now ready to host any match, and this is how the stadium will look at night, they have announced that the 60th anniversary of the Zanzibar revolution will be held here," he added.

“And even the Mapinduzi Cup tournament will be played here at Amaan Stadium; it is all joy here in Zanzibar as the country continues to transform…thank you very much,, President Hussein, Ali Mwinyi, for the big job you are doing,” Hillary said.

Aside from the main stadium, two other astonishing venues outside have also been decorated with floodlights.

Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania beat Botswana, Algeria and Senegal to win the bid to host the 2027 AFCON.
