The Eagles of Carthage of Tunisia were just too good for Equatorial Guinea during their AFCONQ2023 opener.

Tunisia has started it's Africa Cup of Nations journey in the best possible way after a comfortable win over Equatorial Guinea in Rades.

The Carthage Eagles put four goals past their 10-man visitors, Equatorial Guinea to kick start their AFCON 2023 qualifiers in superb fashion.

Youssef Msakni turned out to be the star of the evening after coming on a substitute to score a brace.

Equatorial Guinea started the game like the meant business and could take at least a point back home after the first half ended in a goalless draw.

However, Tunisia found the breakthrough nine minutes into the second half half Naim Sliti fired them in front.

It was no less than the Eagles deserved, having dominated the encounter from start to that point.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors as they were reduced to ten men when Joanet Lopez was sent off for two bookable offences in the 71st minute.

It was at this point that the collapse started as Tunisia doubled their advantage six minutes later via Seifeddine Jaziri.

Mskani made it 3-0 three minutes later before wrapping up the win with his second and Tunisia's fourth of the game five minutes from time.
