Ogun State will host the National Sports Festival for the second time in the history of the state in 2024.

Police defeated the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) 6-5 in the penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time in an entertaining final at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.
Pulse Sports reports that the NSCDC 2021 beat the police team in the final with a lone goal.
The Nigerian Correctional Service team won by a walkover after the opposing team, the Nigeria Customs Service, failed to turn up for the match.

Ogun Govt Commends Organisers
The Ogun state government, led by the governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commended the organizers for organizing the competition among security apparatus in the state.
The governor, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Sports, Wasiu Isiaka, admonished the security officials to be diligent in their activities.
He also assured that sporting facilities and events would witness a major turnaround in the state ahead of next year’s National Sports Festival.

Meanwhile, the SWAN Chairman, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, said the competition was part of “our contributions to security officers protecting the lives of the citizens,” adding that the tournament also fosters unity among the security agencies.
“The game has come to stay,” he said.
He urged Governor Dapo Abiodun to take up the competition and sponsor it annually.
At the final are the Commissioner for Forestry, Taiwo Oludotun, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Wale Olanrewaju, former Chairmen of SWAN, and other major stakeholders.
