After two attempts, Police targets to win Ogun SWAN Security Cup

Police Machine will battle the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) in final on Sunday (today) at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.

Ahead of the final of the third edition of the Ogun State Sports writers Association (SWAN) Value Jet SWAN Security and safety cup, the football team of the Nigeria Police Force has pleadged to win the trophy.

Pulse Sports reports that the Police Machine has been in the final of the last two editions but failed to win the final.

Police Machine will battle the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) in final on Sunday (today) at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.

The Police Machine who are playing in their third consecutive finals of the competition lost by a lone goal to NSCDC in the final of the maiden edition of the competition, courtesy Ayorinde Fisayo’s strike in about ten minutes to the end of the game.

The team were also humbled by Nigeria Customs Service in the final of the 2022 edition of the competition .

Journey to final

Police Machine thrashed the Nigerian Correctional Service 4-1 in the Semi final and defeated Amotekun in the Quarter final.

In the second semi-final match, the NSCDC football team defeated the defending Champion, the Nigeria Customs Service in a penalty shootout.

DSP and Ogun Police Director of Sports, Bankole Lawal Pele said the police machine are in the final of the competition to win.

Police Machine will battle the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) in final on Sunday (today) at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.

He commended the spirit of the players and the technical crew for their maturity displayed during the competition.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Customs Service will battle Nigeria Correctional Service in the third-place playoff match billed for MKO stadium by 2pm.
