Grealish’s side have tasted defeat in the traditional season opener in both seasons since he signed, losing to Leicester in 2021 and to Liverpool last year.

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has already switched focus to another trophy in his cabinet after winning the treble.

According to Manchester Evening News, Grealish is looking forward to bagging the Community Shield. He has so far enjoyed a trophy-laden spell since his move from Aston Villa two years ago, but there is one trophy that has evaded him in that time.

Grealish’s side have tasted defeat in the traditional season opener in both seasons since he signed, losing to Leicester in 2021 and to Liverpool last year.

However, they will be hoping to end the losing spell when they face Arsenal next week, and Grealish, in particular, is desperate to finally win the one honour he is yet to bag.

"I’ve said to a few of the guys that I’m desperate to win the Community Shield. This is my third year here and I’ve lost two of those finals.

I’m desperate. As a footballer, you want to win as much as possible, but you also want to win everything once. That’s what I want. At least once! You tick them off, don’t you? I lost out on two and I want one,” he said as per Manchester Evening News.

It might be easy to presume that City will rest on their laurels after becoming the second English side to ever win a treble, but it couldn't be any further from the truth.

"That’s why we’re all at a top club and why we’re so successful. Everyone wants to win.

We have talent; we have everything. We have experience, we have young guys, and pure talent. But you also need the winning mentality - and we’ve definitely got that,” he added.
