The England international has been tipped for another move in the summer
Raheem Sterling’s agent Kelly Hogarth has dismissed reports that the England international could leave Chelsea.
The former Manchester City forward, who signed for the Blues last summer, has been linked with Premier League leaders Arsenal. However, his agent has affirmed that a transfer move is unlikely in the summer.
"Sterling has expressed NO discontent with CFC, and having committed his long-term future to the new ownership this summer, there is to be no review of his position in the upcoming transfer window," Hogarth wrote on Twitter.
Sterling is in his first season with the Graham Potter-led side and is enduring a difficult campaign with the London-based outfit, for whom he has managed just four goals and two assists in 18 appearances.
Following the arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, and Noni Madueke in the January transfer window, Sterling is facing stiff competition and is no longer a guaranteed starter.
Many players – including Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – have been tipped to leave the London club in the upcoming transfer window. However, going by Hogarth’s assurance, Sterling may not be one of those stars set to leave Chelsea.
After seven trophy-laden seasons at Manchester City, Sterling opted to sign for Chelsea last summer.
The English star has been linked with Arsenal per recent reports, and it is worth noting that he worked with the Gunners’ manager Mikel Arteta at the Etihad.
As speculation around the forwards’ future continues, Chelsea are preparing to face Leeds United on Saturday in a must-win Premier League match.
