The Egyptian gaffer has raised concerns before facing Kakamega Homeboyz.

Al Hilal Benghazi head coach Mohamed Ouda has voiced his apprehension regarding his team's limited preparation time ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round first-leg clash against Kakamega Homeboyz.

The Libyan outfit is gearing up to face Homeboyz in the first leg of the Preliminary Round, set to take place at Nyayo National Stadium this Saturday.

Speaking as the team was departing for Nairobi, Ouda lamented the absence of competitive matches for his side since July.

"Despite not having participated in any actual matches yet, we have managed to build strong team cohesion. Our training began just ten days ago, and with only a few days left until we face the Kenyan side, time is of the essence," Ouda remarked as per club media.

Highlighting the challenge posed by their opponents, the Egyptian gaffer pointed out that Homeboyz recently competed in an FKF Charity Shield, giving them ample time to fine-tune their strategies.

"I hope our Football Association and league could adopt a model similar to African leagues, where early preparation is given significant emphasis. Such an approach would greatly benefit our team and division, allowing us to build confidence, anticipate challenges, and remain adaptable," he said.

The Libyan Premier League operates in two groups, each comprising 10 teams. Three teams from each group advance to a subsequent stage, where they compete to determine the ultimate champion.

Al Hilal Benghazi secured a commendable third-place finish with six points, while their rivals Al-Nasr settled for fifth place with four points.

Despite the time constraints, Ouda commended the team's relentless efforts in training.

"We have implemented two training sessions daily—both in the morning and afternoon—and the commitment from everyone is truly commendable," he said.

While the team's dedication has yielded positive outcomes, Ouda acknowledged the challenges they faced in scheduling due to injury concerns.

"Unfortunately, due to time limitations, we couldn't proceed with the second match as injury worries were prevalent," he concluded.

Benghazi secured their spot to represent Libya in the continental competition in July after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Al-Nasr during the final matchday of the six-team championship playoffs, which determined the winner of the Libyan Premier League.
