Former Vipers SC head coach Alex Isabirye Musongola has expressed his support for the newly appointed Uganda Cranes coaches Paul Put Joseph and Sam Ssimbwa.
The duo were made head coach and assistant coach, respectively by FUFA, with tasks of bringing a fresh lease of life to the senior national team.
Put took over from Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, who had been in the role for two years, till his sacking over a month back.
And Isabirye, who is a former Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup champion, called on the fans to get behind the freshly inducted pair.
"Congratulations Mulangira (Sam Ssimbwa)," started Isabirye via his official X handle.
"I greatly believe the combination with Mr. Paul Put will steer our national team to great heights," he afded.
"Let's give them time and support. It's our game, it's our country," Isabirye summed.
Put and Ssimbwa's immediate tasks will have them oversee Uganda Cranes' World Cup qualification campaign, with the first matches slated for November this year against Guinea and Somalia.

After the large match-fixing scandal when he was head coach of Belgian club Lierse, Put was charged by the Brussels Correctional Tribunal court.
Meanwhile, reports have linked Isabirye, who is currently without a club, to joining KCCA FC as the latter look for Sergio Traguil's replacement.
