Year-end stats confirmed Alex Iwobi's place among the best playmakers in European football.

Alex Iwobi has been unplayable in the Premier League this year and this is reflected in his playmaking numbers, where he ranks amongst the best players in Europe.

A few weeks ago, Pulse Sports published data from Fbref, which showed that Iwobi was the player in the Premier League with the most Passes into the Penalty Area (PPA), a key playmaking metric.

As the year comes to an end, data websites have been publishing year-end numbers, and Alex Iwobi was revealed to be among the leaders in the entirety of Europe’s top five leagues in chance creation numbers.

According to Squawka, the Nigerian midfielder who plays for Fulham had a whopping 67 goal-scoring chances created for his teammates through the 2024 calendar year.

Only Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard generated more than him with 79 and 76 respectively.

This meant that the former Hale End star created more chances than renowned playmakers like Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes, Vinicius Jr, Lamine Yamal, Florian Wirtz and the like.

Iwobi has five goals and three assists for Fulham this season.

The top ten list for chances created in Europe's top five leagues is as follows:

Cole Palmer (Chelsea): 79

Martin Odegaard (Arsenal): 76

Alex Iwobi (Fulham): 67

Luis Diaz (Liverpool): 66

Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United): 66

Junya Ito (Reims): 64

Kevin Stoger (Borussia Monchengladbach/ Bochum): 63

Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen): 63

Bernardo Silva (Manchester City): 63

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City): 62
