Fulham fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of defending champions and title contenders Man City on Saturday afternoon, May 11.
However, while it was a game to forget for the hosts, it was also an emotional moment for members of the squad who took to the pitch for family photos after the full time whistle.
Alex Iwobi’s family members joins him for Fulham’s last game of the season
Iwobi’s sister, Marie, as well as his father, Chuba Iwobi, and his wife, wet all present at the Craven Cottage to watch him play in their final home game of the 2023-24 Premier League season.
The 28-year-old midfields who celebrated his birthday with friends and family last week, shared family photos from after the game, to his 1.4 million followers on Instagram, as he captioned: “Enjoyable Season at the Cottage.”
However, a notable absentee from the photo was his girlfriend, Ellie Mae.
Amid speculation over their relationship, the UK model and influencer was not present on Saturday to join Iwobi on the pitch.
Ellie, who has continued to maintain a low profile about her relationship with the Super Eagles star did not also post on her social media account, when the footballer turned 28 last week.
However, the pair still follow each other on Instagram.
Fulham who have avoided relegation this season currently find themselves in 14th place, two points below 12th placed Crystal Palace, with one game to go.
Iwobi will return to action on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season against relegated Luton Town, on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
