Iwobi scores in 4-1 drubbing
Iwobi's stunning opener in the 20th minute seemed to be the start of the journey to a third straight victory for the Cottagers, but they found themselves at the end of a 4-1 thumping.
The Nigerian has been on form this season, but Wolves’ Matheus Cunha has arguably been hotter, and he continued his scoring streak around the half-hour mark to restore parity.
Joao Gomes put the visitors ahead in the 53rd minute, but late strikes from Cunha and Goncalo Guedes confirmed that Iwobi and his teammates would be embarrassed.
What Iwobi said
It was a disappointing outing for the former Everton man and his teammates, despite the 27-year-old scoring his third goal of the league campaign.
Earlier today, a full day after the match, Iwobi took to social media to share clips from the game and applied the caption “Tough times never last.”
Fulham have accrued 18 points this season, only four points behind Arsenal in fourth place. They owe some of this success to the excellent Iwobi.
Earlier, Pulse Sports pitched the former Arsenal man as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League this season.
