Former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder is reportedly in line for talks with Leeds over the vacant managerial position at the club
Leeds have been on the hunt for a new manager since relieving Jesse Marsch of his duties following the 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest - a defeat that extended the club's winless Premier League run to eight games.
Leeds Manager search continues
West Brom coach Carlos Corberan was the club's first-choice replacement for Marsch, but the Spaniard put pen to paper on a new deal at The Hawthorns instead of talking over at Leeds.
Andoni Iraola, who has overseen Rayo Vallecano's remarkable rise up the La Liga table this season, was the next to be linked and subsequently snub Leeds, with 90min being told by sources that Iraola wanted to stay at Vallecano.
Feyenoord manager Arne Slot was also on Leeds' shortlist, but confirmed that he wanted to stay in the Eredivisie on Friday, stating:
"It is true that I will stay with Feyenoord, I can say that with this one. That is clear, fans do not have to be afraid."
Alfred Schreuder set for talks with Leeds
According to 90min football, Leeds United have now turned their attention to Schreuder, who was recently sacked by Ajax after a spate of poor results.
Schreuder was at Elland Road to watch the 2-0 defeat to arch rivals Manchester United and is believed to have discussed the vacant role afterwards.
The Dutch manager endured a torrid spell at Ajax in the first half of the 2022/23 season, winning just 45% of his games at the club, but he has enjoyed previous success in management.
Schreuder oversaw a fantastic 2021/22 campaign for Club Brugge in Belgium, winning the league title with the club.
