Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has opened up about a potential move to Manchester United in the coming transfer window.
Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres has broken his silence on Ruben Amorim's move to Manchester United.
Amorim brought Gyokeres to Sporting from Coventry last summer and the 26-year-old has been a revelation, scoring goals for fun.
Speaking after Sweden's 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Slovakia, Gyokeres praised Amorim for impacting his career tremendously, as well as possibly following him to Manchester United in the future.
He said via @fotbollskanal:
“Joining Amorim at Man United? Probably he already has strikers there.
“It’s sad to see him leaving Sporting, but we understand his decision, of course.
“He’s been key for me, Amorim gave me a chance, helping me to develop.”
Gyokeres was on target as Sweden defeated Slovakia, and will aim to continue his red-hot form in Tuesday's home game against Azerbaijan.
