Super Eagles superstar William Troost-Ekong has praised Nigeria's women's basketball team, the D'Tigress, after they made history over the weekend as they became the first-ever African team, men or women, to reach the quarter-finals of the Olympics.
Rena Wakama's side stunned the world number five-ranked Canada 79-70 in their final group match, securing their place in the last eight of the Paris 2024 Games.

And Super Eagles defender Troost-Ekong was left amazed by the performance of the D'Tigress, joining millions of Nigerians in celebrating their historic feat.
'Amazing achievement,' Troost-Ekong stated on X.com, formerly Twitter. 'Let's go all the way!'
The 30-year-old, who has been busy making waves for his club side PAOK in the Champions League qualifiers, hailed the D'Tigress' remarkable victory over Canada.
The excellent Nigeria women punished mistakes made by their more illustrious Canadian counterparts, scoring an astounding 27 points from turnovers to secure the nine-point win.
As a reward for their progress, the D'Tigress will now face another tricky giant in the last eight when they go head-to-head with the United States of America, having also battled Paris 2024 hosts France in the group stage.
Troost-Ekong, who was ignored by former Super Eagles boss Finidi George, has also been in impressive form for PAOK, scoring the winner in their UEFA Champions League qualifying first leg clash against Bosnian side Borac Banja Luka.
The defender was also decisive in the second leg, helping the Greek champions secure a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory to seal their progress.
