Real Madrid's struggles this season
After a LALIGA and Champions League double-winning campaign, Los Blancos were predicted to start another dynasty, especially after they acquired the consensus best player in the world: Kylian Mbappe.
Instead, they currently lie nine points behind Spanish top-flight leaders Barcelona, albeit having played a game less, and are at risk of missing out of automatic qualification in the Champions League first phase after losing two of the four games played.
They have looked disjointed, with Ancelotti criticised for failing to piece the team together into a coherent unit, but that Italian, who has led Real Madrid to three of their 15 UCL titles, has a plan to turn things around.
What Ancelotti said
Ahead of this weekend's LALIGA clash against Osasuna at Santiago Bernabeu, their first since the 4-0 thrashing from Barcelona in the same ground, Ancelotti told reporters he had found the solution to their problems.
“I think we found the solution,” he said. “Now we have to show this on the pitch. Sacrifice, focus and collective effort. This is the key.
“It's a difficult moment for us... but I'm happy to be here at the best club in the world.”
