The Barcelona legend will retire from playing active football after two decades of commitment to the game.

Spanish icon Andrés Iniesta will officially announce his retirement on October 8th, marking the end of an illustrious career spanning over two decades.

Andrés Iniesta, widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Spain, scoring the only goal against the Netherlands in the final.

Early Promise at La Masia

Iniesta's journey began at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy where, his exceptional talent quickly turned heads.

Pep Guardiola, then-Barcelona captain, famously remarked to Xavi, "You're going to retire me. This lad [Iniesta] is going to retire us all." His incredible ball control, vision, and composure were evident from a young age.
