The former AFC Leopards coach says he has been taking his time out to gather as much knowledge as he can as he waits for the right project and does not rule out coaching outside the country or even in the second-tier, National Super League (NSL).
“At the moment I am trying to learn as much as I can because football is an ever-evolving industry. I’m using this time that I have now where I am not attached to any team to just learn as much as I can. Try to look for as much as available learning courses for me to undertake just before I get a team to commit,” Kimani told Pulse Sports.

The move comes following Bandari's FKF Cup exit at the hands of Kimani's former employers, AFC Leopards.
“A coach can coach any team at any level, I get a lot of fulfillment and enjoyment in coaching and I cannot really say I have a certain preference. I will be more than glad to coach whatever team that will approach me and sit down and agree the best possible approach for that team so I cannot rule out coaching at any level.
“Every team has different dynamics, it is all about agreeing to meet each other halfway. So as when I get a team that we can both agree on the direction that we think is the best for the club, I am sure we can work something out.”

After impressing in the second leg of the 2021-22 season, Bandari confirmed him for the just-concluded season, but he was relieved of his duties in May after the club had gone through a string of inconsistent results.
