Antony respond to Man United statement after getting suspended till further notice

Antony has released a statement in response to Man United's statement, confirming he won't be joining the club for training again.

Manchester United announced that Antony would not be joining the team for training "until further notice."

The club has granted the £85 million winger a leave of absence as a result of three women accusing him of domestic abuse.

He has now responded to the released statement on the Man United website, confirming his absence from the team.

Antony’s statement 

In a statement released on his Instagram, Antony said as reported by the Sun, "I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.

“This was a mutual decision to avoid distraction to my teammates and unnecessary controversy for the club.

“I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.”

Meanwhile, Antony has strongly denied all assault allegations levelled against him by his ex and two other women.

However, In an exclusive interview with The Sun on Sunday afternoon, his ex Gabriela Cavallin took the lead in calling for the footballer to be removed from the team.

Gabriella has asked the Club owners of Man United Old Trafford to suspend Antony's participation while police look into her alleged assault charges.
