FIFA Council member Amaju Melvin Pinnick has confirmed that the Nigerian Football Federation will soon appoint a new substantive head coach for the Super Eagles.

The NFF has faced criticism for the delay in appointing a permanent replacement after the departure of Finidi. The federation had previously announced its intention to hire an expatriate coach.
Pinnick assures Nigeria of new Super Eagles coach
The former NFF President confirmed in an interview with Channels Television that the team will soon have a new coach.
"Any moment from now, I am sure they would be announcing a coach, an enterprising coach at that," he said.
Pinnick assured that while Nigeria will qualify for the World Cup, it will be a challenging task.
“I speak to the president [of the NFF] every other day and I know he is very religious about qualifying Nigeria for the World Cup. It is going to be a tough call.”
