The Reds led at half-time after goals from Fabio Carvalho and Curtis Jones in minutes 10 and 36 and they added gloss to the score after Konstantinos Tsimikas found the net on the hour mark to seal Liverpool's consecutive wins over Premier League rivals following a recent 2-1 success over Arsenal.
Liverpool have now notched victories over Real Betis, Arsenal and the Red Devils heading into their final pre-season fixture against Sevilla on August 11 before their Premier League opener six days later at Anfield with newly promoted Ipswich visiting Merseyside.
What Slot said after Liverpool’s win over Man Utd
Even though his team secured another victory in the off-season, the Dutch boss was unhappy with the Reds’ overall control, feeling the 3-0 result was not a fair reflection of proceedings.
“We are very happy with the result, we scored some really nice goals,” said Slot post-match. “But I don't think we had enough control over the game because United were threatening us more than a few times.
“It's a 3-0 win but the score could have been different tonight as well. Today I think we gave away too many chances, United deserved more than a 3-0 loss. But it's also our quality that we do score our own chances.”
What comes next?
