After a long search for a new manager, Liverpool finally settled on Dutchman Arne Slot as the replacement for the outgoing Jurgen Klopp.
Slot, the former Feyenoord coach was handed a three-year contract and will start work on June 1.

Thew new Liverpool manager will turn a new chapter in his career alongside life partner Mirjam Slot. The couple have two children, his son Joep and Daughter Isa.
Tactics
His similarities with Jurgen Klopp are quite clear. Slot favours intense pressing and quick ball movement during an attack.
Although some of his tactics are paralleled to Klopp’s ‘heavy mental football’, the outgoing German tactician has approved his methods to compete in the Premier League.
When attacking, he prefers not to overload the flanks. He prefers the wingers maintaining the shape of the three-man attacking line, while full-backs overlap to provide support and cause overloads in the middle of the field.
Having this in mind, we can understand how Slot manages to flock players in the central area on the edge of the box. This area of the pitch is called ‘zone 14’
Salary
Slot not only has big shoes to fill at Anfield, he is also set to earn a huge amount compared to what he previously earned at Feyenoord.
Since signing his new contract with Feyenoord last year, he has pocketed £3.4-£4.3 million (around Ksh700 million) with bonuses included.
Liverpool contract is worth £8 million-per-year (Ksh1.3 billion).
Achievements
On an individual level, Slot has been named the Dutch manager of the year twice and he has also reached the UEFA Conference League final in 2021/22, when he was beaten by Jose Mourinho's AS Roma.
In addition to masterminding Feyenoord’s trimph in the Eredivisie, his most recent achievement was lifting the KNVB Cup in April.
He has the potential as highlighted by Liverpool, but he has to match up to Klopp’s triumphs including; three UEFA Champions League final appearances and one win in the competition (2018/19), one Premier League trophy, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups, the Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.
