Two foreign-based forwards reportedly arrive in the Flying Eagles camp in Abuja ahead of the 2023 under-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria received a major boost in their preparations for the 2023 under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt as two England-based invitees reportedly arrived in camp.

Arsenal forward Joel Ideho and Crystal Palace starlet Ademola Ola-Adebomi have both reported for international duty in the nation's capital Abuja according to AllNigeriaSoccer.

It is understood that both players are in Abuja and will train for the first time with the players in camp on Monday evening.

19-year-old Ideho plays primarily as a left winger for Arsenal under 21s where he has been since October 2020 having joined from Ajax.

The Dutch-born forward is now in Nigeria ready to represent the Flying Eagles after reports had suggested he wasn’t too keen on playing for the country before.

The forward is known for scoring spectacular goals and has played non-binding games for the Netherlands at youth level.

This means he does not have to submit a request for a change of association before suiting up for the Flying Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ola-Adebomi on the other hand is a big, powerful, fast and left-footed striker for Crystal Palace whom he joined Crystal Palace eleven years ago, rising through the ranks before signing his first professional contract in April 2022.

The 19-year-old is blessed with good passing skills and can hit the ball from distance. He’s scored three goals in 12 games for Crystal Palace u-21s this season so far.

Both players will be hoping to be involved when the seven-time African champions face Zambia in a doubleheader friendly on January 27 and 30.

The preparatory matches will be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium after which Nigeria will face off against hosts Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal in Group A at the tournament proper.
