Arsenal are set to lose their longest-serving player Rob Holding as he edges closer to joining Crystal Palace on loan.

Rob Holding has struggled to get into Arteta’s starting eleven despite being the longest-serving player in the team.

Last season, he had an opportunity to get enough playing time after replacing Saliba who got injured but failed to impress.

However, he is set to leave the club on loan to Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day after falling down the pecking order.

Holding having his medical ahead of his move

According to reports, Rob Holding is currently having his medical ahead of his proposed loan move to Crystal Palace.

Fabrizio on Twitter said, “Medical ongoing for Rob Holding at Crystal Palace. Done deal and here we go for £4m fee 🚨🔴🔵 #CPFC.

“Permanent transfer from Arsenal for the centre-back who preferred to move to Palace over La Liga proposals.”

Crystal Palace agreed to a deal worth £4 million for the Arsenal defender and the deal is close to being completed.

The English international has fallen behind the likes of Saliba and Gabriel which has led to the club deciding to let him leave this summer.

Holding is currently the longest-serving player at Arsenal, making 162 appearances, and scoring just five goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will welcome Manchester United to the Emirate Stadium on Sunday in a mouthwatering clash as they continue their challenge for the title.
