Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has hailed his team's performance in their FA Cup third-round victory over Arsenal

Despite facing a tough challenge at the Emirates Stadium, especially after Diogo Dalot's second-half sending-off, United emerged victorious after a penalty shootout, and Amorim believes his side deserved the win.

What Amorim said

Amorim praised his team's fighting spirit and their ability to control the game without dominating possession.

He acknowledged that Arsenal had more chances, but felt that the Red Devils’ United's defensive resilience and effectiveness on set pieces were key to their victory.

“Some things are not technical and tactical, we had fight and we competed,” Amorim told BBC Sport after the match.

“We deserved the win even though they had more chances. They didn’t deserve to lose, but we deserved to win. We didn’t have the ball so much but we had control without the ball.

“The fans were unbelievable for us too. Now we have to rest the players, they are really tired.”

The United manager also expressed his satisfaction with the team's progress in recent matches, particularly after their impressive 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League.
