A message to Osimhen? Former Arsenal goalkeeper chooses retirement over Saudi money
The former Gunner was offered a lucrative salary to move to the Saudi Pro League but chose to retire instead
However, he lost his spot to Spanish shot-stopper David Raya the following season and has been unable to reclaim it. Ramsdale is reportedly frustrated with his situation, and his representatives have been searching for exit solutions. He is now set to join Southampton for a fee in the region of £25 million.
Arsenal target Joan Garcia
The Arsenal leadership have gotten ahead of this and have since been preparing for life after Ramsdale. Mikel Arteta's side will be in four competitions this season and require a reliable second-choice goalie.
According to Relevo, they have identified Espanyol’s Garcia, whom they have since been monitoring. With Ramsdale’s exit imminent, they are prepared to make a move for the 23-year-old.
Garcia is Espanyol's first-choice goalie, and the Catalan club are unwilling to see their priced asset leave. They have refused to negotiate with Arsenal, and instead, they referred them to his €30 million release clause.
