Arsenal suffered a blow in their title race as they drew against Brighton, giving Liverpool an advantage.

The Gunners head into the game looking confident after their 3-1 win against Brentford, despite the absence of Bukayo Saka.

However, they could not get the desired result to keep the pressure on Liverpool as they played a 1-1 draw against Brighton.

As it happened

Mikel Arteta has named captain Martin Odegaard on the bench and Kai Havertz is still not in the squad after illness.

Arsenal youngster Nathan Nwaneri made his second Premier League start for the Gunners after an impressive performance against Brentford.

Arsenal started the game looking in control and made use of their first chance after a nice piece of play in the midfield, with the final ball putting Nwaneri through on goal before coolly slotting it past the goalkeeper.

Brighton equalised from the penalty spot in the second half after Joao Pedro was fouled in the box by Saliba.

Arsenal tried to get the winner, but Brighton held on until the final whistle, leaving the Gunners frustrated.
