Jamal Musiala starred as Germany defeated Denmark 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of EURO 2024 on home soil.
The 21-year-old swapped Chelsea's academy for Bayern Munich’s in 2019 and came up through the ranks at the club before establishing himself as a first-team star.
He last signed a contract in 2021, and the five-year extension he penned then is fast running out. The deal is set to expire in 2026, and a number of top clubs are believed to be monitoring the situation.
What Musiala said
After shining at the Euros—finishing amongst the top scorers—Musiala is back in Germany for national team duties. Speaking at a press conference, he was questioned about his future regarding his contract situation and he told reporters he is happy with Bayern and remains focused on their ambitions under Vincent Kompany.
However, he left his future open, suggesting that his situation could very well change. “I'm very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals,” he said, per Fabrizio Romano.
“Playing abroad like Bellingham? I'm not thinking about where I will be in five years. Things can always change quickly in world of football”
