Following Kai Havertz's first Arsenal goal against the MLS All-Stars, he has responded to those who have criticised him.

The Gunners faced the MLS All-Stars in a friendly that saw Mikel Arteta’s thump the American team 5-0.

The German international was recently criticised for not hitting the target during MLS All-Star Skills Competition.

However, he silenced his critics by scoring his first goal with a volley with his left foot in an Arsenal shirt.

Havertz was the last player to score, and his goal, which was somewhat ironic given the criticism he had to undergo just hours earlier, came after his £65 million move from Chelsea.

Havertz shut Chelsea critics

During the MLS All-Stars Skill Challenge, the German international was charged with scoring volleys.

Chelsea supporters made fun of Havertz for finishing the challenge for the first time in five years without scoring.

However, when the real game started, the forward shut his critics up and demonstrated his ability to perform by scoring a volley.

After the game, the German tweeted a picture of his strike on social media with the remark as reported by Football London, “Hav that.”

A follow-up message read, “But in all seriousness. Really nice feeling to get my first @arsenal goal! Thank you to the fans for the amazing support this week!”

Although Arteta admits his adaptability will be a vital asset over the course of a season, he has employed him in a midfield position despite frequently playing as a number nine at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after the game, Arteta said, “I think again that’s one of the main qualities that he has.

“He gives us something different with his quality and his height for example where he can be a target man if we need to beat the press.

“He’s playing at the attacking midfield position for now but I’m sure throughout the season he’ll be used in different positions.”

Arsenal will continue their preseason game as they prepare to face Manchester United in preparation for the new season.
