The Gunners are reportedly ahead of their rivals in the race for an all-firing forward.

Arsenal have reportedly stolen a march on Liverpool in the pursuit of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush.

The 25-year-old forward is one of the most coveted offensive talents in European football. He shone with Frankfurt last season and has taken his performance level up several notches with 30 goal contributions in 24 matches this season.

This placed him on the radar of top European clubs, especially Liverpool, who reportedly hoped to replace one Egyptian with another as they prepared for Salah's exit.

Arsenal now leading the race

Liverpool were the frontrunners for Marmoush’s signature; however, according to a report from Caught Offside, the Gunners are now ahead.

Per the report, the striker's exit from Frankfurt is increasingly likely as talks of an extension of this contract set to expire in 2027 have hit a snag.

Mikel Arteta's side are reportedly attentive to the situation, and sources claim that they currently stand a better chance than their league rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, who are also interested in Marmoush.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will pull the trigger this winter transfer window given Saka’s injury layoff or wait till the summer transfer window.
