Manchester United lost more than the game after Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund picked up injuries against Arsenal.

It was a frustrating outing for Erik Ten Hag and his Manchester United as they were beaten 2-1 by Premier League rivals Arsenal in their pre-season friendly in Los Angeles.

However, the main concerns for Erik ten Hag will be the injuries to new signings Leny Yoro and latest number 9, Rasmus Hojlund.

Hojlund, making his first appearance in preseason in his new number scored the opener when he put the Red Devils in front, but his evening was cut short after just 15 minutes when he appeared to get his studs caught in the SoFi Stadium turf.

The Danish striker was immediately substituted, with fans hoping it was just a precautionary measure rather than a serious issue.

Yoro, United's other new defensive recruit, also had to be replaced before half-time after picking up an injury.

The 20-year-old Frenchman, who chose the Reds over Real Madrid after a transfer saga, was withdrawn 10 minutes before the break, with Rhys Bennett coming on in his place.

While the extent of both players' injuries is not yet known, United fans will be desperately hoping their summer signings have not been dealt a major blow this early in pre-season.

On the pitch, however, it was Arsenal who claimed victory, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring the winning goal nine minutes from time after United had taken an early lead.

But the Reds also had something to laugh about in the end, winning the penalty shootout 4-3 after the match finished 2-1 for the Gunners.

Nevertheless, Ten Hag will be more concerned with the fitness of Hojlund and Yoro as United continue their pre-season preparations ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
