Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to grace the Africa Football League opening game between Simba and Egypt's Al Ahly, slated for Friday.

Reports in Tanzania have stressed Wenger will touch base in the country on Thursday, just in time for the event.

It has also been reported that FIFA President Gianni Infantino will grace the occasion in Tanzania.

Simba and Al Ahly will lock horns in the first game of the Africa Football League, a tournament that comprises eight clubs from all over the continent.

The competition was launched last year, with a prize money of $4 million to the eventual winners.

The other clubs in the competition include TP Mazembe of DRC, Esperance of Tunisia, and Petro Atletico de Luanda from Angola.

Others include Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Nigerian outfit Enyimba and Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
