Erik ten Hag's men went into an early lead through Rasmus Hojlund after 10 minutes, but Jesus levelled proceedings before the half-hour mark after finding the bottom-right corner from close range.
The game stayed level under the concluding moments when Gabriel Martinelli shot into the opposite corner from close range with nine minutes remaining.
What Arteta said about Jesus’ performance
The Arsenal boss was elated by the Brazilian’s showing at SoFi Stadium, suggesting that the forward’s game could go up another level in the 2024-25 campaign.
“He looks really good, he looks really sharp,” acknowledged Arteta. “He’s changed a lot of things over the summer and he’s come back in top condition again.
“When you have that baseline, other things can be built but without that foundation, we don’t have a player and he needs to be in that condition to get the best out of him.
“He’s realised that and I’m really happy with what he’s shown today again. You can see by the way he looks, the way he’s moving and you can see in his eyes that there’s a spark there.”
